It’s been hard to miss the meteoric rise of Australian surf brand Rhythm in Europe. Having started out in the region in 2010 as a small-scale operation based in Innsbruck, they relocated to Biarritz with an impressive new European HQ that allowed the brand to return to its roots, running business from the beach.

Their highly creative team of talented artists, photographers and ambassadors have given the brand real credibility in Europe’s surf scene, with stories told through stunning content from road trips, surf trips and anything else that fits with their ‘Off The Well Worn Path’ tagline.

In this week’s Friday Interview, SOURCE spoke with their Global General Manager Josh Barrett. Josh has been with the company for 11 years, starting out initially as a Regional Sales Manager in Australia, before progressing to National Sales Manager and has been Global GM since 2008.

Josh talks us through the company’s ethos and business strategy, while paying close attention to how they are moving heavily towards a four season selling model. Josh explains just how their European setup is organised, and talks in detail about how the company is in a great position thanks to the hard work they’ve put in with retailers and manufacturers.
